Ironman Mike Aigroz Takes 6th at Kona

Swiss triathlete Mike Arigoz came 6th at one of the world’s greatest tests of human strength and endurance, the Ford Ironman World Championship, in Kona, Hawaii on October 8.

Mike wore Hard Kore White G12 and a Kaenon visor during the race and across the finish line, finishing the 3.8 km swim, 180 km cycle and 42.195 km run with a time of 8:21:07. Congratulations, Mike, on the incredible finish!

Subaru Ironman Canada 2009

TRIATHLON – VANCOUVER, CA

Among 2600 athletes our Swiss professional athlete, Mike Aigroz finished 2nd wearing Hard Kore while racing at the Subaru Ironman Canada 2009 (Vancouver). Mike is now also qualified for the Mythic Hawaii Ironman which is considered the elite event, held in October in Kona.

Mike had to deliver a hard fight against well known athletes like German Thomas Hellriegel (1997 Hawaii Ironman Winner), Lothar Leder who is the first ever athlete having completed an Ironman in less than 8 hours. All professional competitors came to Vancouver to try to obtain their qualification to compete in Hawaii, however only the top 3 guys got their ticket – well done Mike!

Mike exited the swim transition (3.8km) in 6th place, then followed his swim experience racing on the bike for 180 km and kept his 6th place position. During the running (42.195km), Mike progressively pushed ahead and one after another, his main competitors had to accept that Mike was better prepared. Mike finished 2nd, knowing that it is his 3rd Ironman and a fantastic finish.

Mike has a large panel of Kaenon eyewear, switching between Hard Kore, Kore, Georgia among others. Mike will remain remain on the North American continent to prepare himself for the Mythic Hawaii Ironman.
